Keith Gordon

CBT, psychotherapy and hypnotherapy

Asperger's Syndrome

During my years practicing as a hypno-psychotherapist, I have had the great fortune to work with many people of both sexes and a wide range of ages, and many have presented with a variety of issues that fall within the scope of the autism spectrum.

As a psychotherapist I am not permitted to offer a diagnosis, so I will always refer back to the client's GP, however I can work with the client to help them better understand the way their mind is working and with that knowledge enable a different and more manageable outlook.

Clients often present with a range of behavioural, physical and social issues and this is where the therapies can be used so effectively to help manage much of the mental stresses and anxieties.

I will often use hypnosis with my clients because of the ways it interacts with unconscious processing and it is often in this area that clients suffer - the unconscious need to check that doors and windows are closed, social and performance anxieties.

However, there are also tools that the client can learn to use themselves and are totally portable, which is why I regularly teach the benefits of mindfulness and meditation.

This page will be growing with increased information and links to specialist organisations and colleagues who practice in the same field but in different areas of the UK. So please keep on visiting or feel free to call me and I'll be happy to have a chat.
